As members of SafeGolf (), England Golf are working to promote a safe and positive environment for everyone in the sport. Every child deserves to enjoy their sport.
Time to Listen (TTL) is a three hour interactive workshop, developed by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and is the most appropriate and relevant training for Club Welfare Officers. Please note; CWOs must have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop previously.
From the 1st April 2019, it is a mandatory requirement that all Club Welfare Officers have attended a TTL Workshop. Please note; CWOs are required to refresh their safeguarding knowledge every 3 years through the SPC training.
This workshop builds on basic safeguarding awareness and focuses on implementation in the club environment. It also gives individuals an opportunity to discuss specific issues, challenges and good practice in a friendly environment.
The workshop will:
Identify what a Club Welfare Officer does
Describe how a Club Welfare Officer works with others to create a child-centred environment
Explain how the Club Welfare Officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment
Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice
The course is charged at £30 per person. There are a maximum of 16 places per workshop so please reply early, as places are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and only those who book in advance will be able to attend. To book please follow the booking link at the top of the page.
