The Melting Pot
GB, Gloucester, 15A Scott Avenue, GL2 5BD
A great opportunity to see what urban forageable delights there are right on your doorstep. You will spend around an hour exploring Milton Avenue Green Space, where Rob will introduce you to an interesting array of wild edibles, as well as municipal plants and trees, and even the odd garden escapee. Whilst you walk he will explain some key principles of foraging, plus matters of safety, and will also touch on the laws regarding harvesting wild food.
This is primarily a learning event, so please do not expect to take any items away with you, however there will be plenty of opportunities to discuss the plants you see, including how they can be used, plus a chance to talk about any further information required regarding suitable books, tools and equipment.
Afterwards there's a good chance that Rob can be bribed with a cuppa at The Melting Pot, so for anyone keen to learn more, there may be that opportunity too...
Children are more than welcome to attend, but no more than two per paying *****.
Wear sensible footwear, as although you will only be covering a small distance, there are areas of long grass, brambles and sloping ground, plus the odd exposed tree root. Similarly please dress for the weather, as there's a very good chance this event will go ahead whatever the conditions. And don't forget water, plus of course your camera and notebook if you wish.
Please meet Rob at The Melting Pot around 9.15am, and then you will make your way to Milton Avenue Green Space.
Note - as part of an ongoing collaboration between Rob Gould, Cotswold Forager and Podsmead Big Local, tickets for this event are offered at a reduced price compared to other similar events.
