This ten-week foundation course takes the student on a thorough and comprehensive journey through the content of the ABRSM Grade 1-4 music theory courses. The student will focus their studies on sections from the various grades before tackling a variety of specimen past papers, all the while being assisted by expert supervision and teaching.
The course is best suited for those (of any age) who have not spent a great deal of time studying the theoretical side of music but do have experience of learning an instrument (including voice.) The student will likely see the the need to sit their Grade 5 theory course in the not too distant future.
The Foundation Course is seen as a pre-cursor to the Booster Course, should the student be seeking to work towards sitting the Grade 5 theory exam. The course is one of many run by the Liverpool Cathedral School of Music. It is led by musicianship expert, Stuart Keen. Learning materials (Grade 5 theory book and past papers) are included in the price.
Liverpool Cathedral School of Music is an 'applicant' with the ABRSM and as such can enter students for theory and practical examinations.
*Liverpool Cathedral School of Music teaching staff are not responsible for a theory student not passing the written exam. Refunds will not be given should this happen.
