Crudo Volta and journalist Christian Adofo present Taxi Waves- an evening of screenings, discussions and live music.
Following the first two documentaries Woza and Yenkyi which focused respectively on Gqom in Durban and Afrobass in Accra, visual collective Crudo Volta have returned with a new series called Taxi Waves with three documentary films focusing on contemporary African urban music.
This screening will document contemporary youth and music cultures across three different African cities: Lagos (Nigeria), Maputo (Mozambique) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). This event also marks the 2LP release of Taxi Sampler 01 and launch of new label Python Syndicate-an independent collaboration by Crudo Volta founder and Art Director Mike Calandra Achode and Gqom Oh! DJ and label owner Nan Kolè.
