Did you know that Glasgow translates as 'Dear Green Place' in Gaelic? Sadly many of our canals and green spaces are becoming choked with plastic waste.
Glasgow Over Plastic are holding our third community clean-up at the Fourth and Clyde Canal in Maryhill, in a bid to return Glasgow to its rightful status as a Dear Green Place.
We'd like to invite you to join us for the event, where you will meet lots of friendly people and help make Glasgow an even better place to live. We had more than 70 attendees at our last event and we'd love to see you all again, as well as some new faces!
This time we are being kindly hosted by Free Wheel North, a fantastic cycling development charity based here in Glasgow. We will be meeting at their centre at The White House in Maryhill. We will also be joined by Scottish Canals, who will be helping us run the event.
After the cleanup we will be heading to a local pub for a pint and a chat. We'd love for you to join us!
We will also be selling some of our highly-requested tshirts! The tshirts were designed by one of our team members, Danielle, and will be printed on ethically sourced cotton by our friends at Wild and Kind. As we need to order these in advance, we ask that if you would like to buy one, please do so by selecting a tickete type with a tshirt and the size you would like. You will be able to pick your order up at the cleanup!
