Welcome and introductions
Aviva: Our hosts for the morning will open the forum by providing some background on Aviva and their work.
EQ Global Training: Jo Warner, Director of EQ Global Training will talk about the importance of emotional intelligence in leadership and its impact on business success. Members of the forum will also be invited to a free lunchtime talk later on in the month.
Domestic Abuse, A Toolkit for Employers - Public Health England in partnership with Business in the Community have developed a toolkit to help you support your employees affected by domestic abuse, a member of the Council's Domestic Abuse Intervention Service will present on the subject and how you can access this information.
Enterprising High Streets programme - Nwes will be joining us to talk about the Enterprising High Streets programme, supported by JP Morgan. This is a free, two year, business support initiative targeting early stage high street businesses in the London boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham.
Hackney Pirates - Hackney Pirates is an enterprising charity working to develop the literacy, confidence and perseverance of young people in Hackney, so that they achieve both in school and in the world beyond. They're joining us to tell us about the work they do, their expansion and how you can volunteer to help with their literacy and confidence building programme for young people.
Council updates - Andrew Scott, Area Regeneration Manager for Shoreditch.
Networking and refreshments - We think it's important these forums provide an opportunity for you to get to know your business neighbours, form new business relationships and use each others services. The last half hour will be a chance for you to do just that, and to aid this we send all registered attendees a short template to fill out with your business will be on display at the forum and ensure you can track down attendees you want to talk to, including Council officers in attendance. Please also feel free to bring along any business promotional material you would like to share.
