As the Data-Driven Innovation (DDI) Programme progresses into its delivery stage, it is important to grow our efforts to establish strong links among different communities at the University that will play an important role in the programme. Unlike other activities, DDI and CityDeal particularly rely on units and individuals involved in business development, in particular BDEs/BDMs and the services that support activities with external partners. This is especially true for activities that will go beyond "traditional" research and teaching. At the same time, we recognise that setting up cross-University structures and networks to facilitate collaboration within and between these groups, is, of course, challenging in a large and complex organisation. At the Bayes Centre, we are starting to develop these relationships and want to play an active role in facilitating those kinds of conversations. As part of these efforts, we would like to invite you all to a session on "Developing DDI business" in room G.03 at Bayes (the seminar room on the ground floor) on Thursday 13th December from 10am to 12pm that aims to bring different communities together to discuss how we can work together effectively to deliver DDI objectives. This event will include presentations from key groups involved in DDI and provide opportunities for everybody at the University with a role in business development to get together and network over coffee and pastries.
